I Absolutely Love School… Well, Most of It!

I understand that many of you dislike school, but I absolutely love it! I bet you are thinking that I am a total weirdo but I know you will change your mind once you get to the bottom of this page… bear in mind, I have dislikes too.

I have so many likes but I’m not going to bore you with all of them. I’ll make this short. Let’s start off with my love of English. I really enjoy English because it is quite challenging, and I enjoy a good challenge! I have better handwriting than my dad! And I love writing such as newspaper articles and my own imaginative stories. Every day I come home with a bunch of new things I’d learnt at school. My parents are both teachers, but I still manage to teach them a few things myself! My mum was very impressed when I was about to reel off a list of different grammatical features when she couldn’t remember what they were.

Maths is my favourite along with art. Art is a very creative subject, and I think I’m really good at it. If you want to be good at art you have to have patience. I feel that I am able to express myself and my personality in the art we do. I really like learning about different artists and using their techniques to create my own art. We have been learning about the seven elements of art, which I find fascinating. It helps me draw on my imagination and express what I’m thinking.  If you don’t think you’re very good at art, don’t worry! Art can be really hard but keep practising!

The reason why I enjoy maths so much is because I have so many friends to support me. Sometimes I find it really hard, but I get it in the end. When I don’t understand some of the things we do in maths, my friends and I help each other out to solve the problems. Sometimes, it’s good to learn from your friends, because we understand each other better than the adults do.

Here are a few things I don’t like about school. I don’t exactly enjoy P.E whereas the boys seem to love it. Maybe it’s because the girls are clever and want to learn but the boys just want to mess around! I enjoy P.E sometimes, especially when it is warm. We tend to do less running and more games such as tennis and rounders. I do not like break time! Yes, I know this sounds strange but there is never enough time to do anything so what’s the point??? I really think break time should be longer. I think I might bring this up at the next student council meeting!

I have realised that everyone is different and we all enjoy different things. Some days I don’t want to go school because I know we’ll be doing things I don’t really enjoy but I have realised that even if I miss I a day, I miss out on a lot!
